Hi I’m looking for some advice I have a 1990 2.5 FSD Banana engine in a boat it leaks a small amount off diesel from the fuel pump when switched off. It appears to be coming from the lever shaft possibly the governor as can be seen in the picture. Also she starting the engine from cold it stars no problem but as the revs start to drop with the wax start thy shoot up to 2000rpm then drop after a minute or so. After this the engine runs great all day no smoke no problems. I am thinking I may need to have the fuel pump rebuilt. I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks Roy.

The Banana engines don't need one....just power to the start/stop solenoid and you should be golden. These old engines are great for this type of application, simple and unmolested by excess electronics.
