fuel fault??

Postby jonno » Fri Oct 14, 2005 10:33 pm

Well good people,I found the fault easy peasy.
Sluggish till warm blue smoke no power.
The anwere,I found reciept after my daughter cleaned the tranny she keeps all bits and bobs to show me so I do not throw anything important away.
Yes there it was,the funny bit as my daughter always puts the fuel in the tranny, she lifted up the fuel hose and set to her job,not realising some one had mixed up the pumps or swapped them over being silly.
So there we have a dose of optimax unleaded in the oil burner.
I went back to the shell garage and found it was the problem so in I went and let them know.
All I did was fill up with derv city, then tranny better no harm done there.
Yes my daughter still fills up the tranny but checks are made.
all in all it was fun as she told her mates at school what she did to dads tranny.I love the girl to bits.

fuel fault??

Postby jonno » Sat Oct 15, 2005 9:42 pm

Yes a good result on the fuel, thanks for your reply.
I go out to many cars hired ones in the main because some people do not read the signes saying diesel only on the dash and on the fuel filler cap.
In goes petrol and dead gets the car, this is one of the reasons I do not like petrol engines in modern cars, they just cannot take the same punishment as derv engines do.
I think though my di engine is good as I do batter it a lot and do loads of miles without worry.
I have tranny camper, the kids think it,s a mobile disco.
