recently bought a transit 2.2tdci 2010 with a speed limiter on of 70mph cant be removed off IDS as the limiter was set from factory and it is set in the BCM rather than the ECU apparently anyone any ideas or people to recommend south wales area ?

Is it a minibus..?? If so it may indeed be "hardwired". A proper "remap" person like Vantuner may be able to sort it...

They don't have a ECU as such...it's called a PCM, "Powertrain Control Module".

IDS is used to remove limiter, both set it in pcm service functions, and the bcm car config parameters.
The only ones that can’t be removed are ECOnetic vans with the eco button and stop/start,
But.....
pressing the eco button on dash removes 70 mph limit and turns off stops start also.

As mentioned, certain minibuses and vans over 3500kg are limited by law and we cannot and would not remove those limits.

The transit centre at Scunthorpe in the Daf truck dealership removed mine but only after it was classified as a motor caravan on the logbook I was lucky as the dvla at the time had stopped been difficult unlike now is very difficult.
