cam timing

Postby bigsparks » Mon May 24, 2021 5:06 pm

Hi
bit experiance on 135 tdci 06
100 psi head comp. been away for head gasket

returned with 320 ish compression ,but no start ?

when timing cover off to do fuel pump checked " inlet" cam and it appears to be one tooth out CW from blue link
The exhaust cam on top ok, tooth under blue link and the pump drill out opposite blue link dead on
would this stop it starting ??
just checking before all chain off again . not feasable to send back to engine rebuilder who did it pre covic erea
cheers all

TDCi pump is not "timed" as such.

If all crank and cam timing marks line up you should be good to go.

u right, but was asking should it have started with
camshaft one tooth out in clockwise direction ie notch not in line with blue link they put timing chain back one tooth out

going to have do the job correctly anyway
then see if starts

Inlet cam appears to be 1 tooth out...do the cam timing pins fit when the crank is pinned.??

Forget aboot the blue links for now, and do as above.... pin the flywheel and see if the camshafts line up for the pins to fit then you'll know
