OBD2 adapter icw Forscan

Would like to know if an OBDLink EX could be used with a smartphone.
Earlier I had purchased a MX to help a friend who had a garage but unfortunately I left it in a customers car and haven't seen it since.
So I am looking for an adapter to use with my smartphone but connected with a cable.
It may also be another brand/type as long as I can use it icw my S8+ and Forscan.
I still have a few fake ELM327's but they only work with Torque Pro and not with Forscan.

Best to use Forscan on a Windoze laptop and a wired "Modified" ELM-327.

Sometimes WiFi or Bluetooth units can drop out and cause dramas if there is a lot of stray WiFi or Bluetooth frequencies floating around the area, not good when halfway through module programming or doing learns etc....it's unlikely to happen, but possible.

I want to get real time driving data as well, and my 17" laptop is too big to have it mounted on the dash.
Can I connect a modified ELM327 with a USB A - USB C cable to my S8+ ?

No, I don't think so..... I think it needs a windoze type interface.

Is there any other adapter that I can use with the Forscan app and connected via cables ?
I will get the Windows based one but need a Smartphone compatible one also.

Which chip is better ? The CH340 or the FTDI
And do they send the modified one to the Netherlands ?

Ordered a USB FTDI - and a WIFI version. See if it will work.
