Sounds more like mechanical compromise than advantage, given my layman's pov.

Anyway, I can't provide technical drawings to prove what I said anymore than you can provide drawings to disprove it.

I'm not making the assertion, Mike, it's up to those making the assertion to prove the point. I can't prove Russell's teapot, if you know some philosophy.

Maybe a few more of these would make my argument more convincing, I'll only do one because I appreciate restraint.

Lol, the strawman argument, there's no strawman, you make claims without providing evidence, it stops there.

Resolve the forces, standard configuration means less horizontal component on compression stroke, but more on the power stroke where cylinder pressures are much higher. Reverse the offset and the opposite is true, leading to less side thrust on the piston and frictional losses overall during it's cycle.

I’ve got a couple of A series in build (one offset  ) seems like no one else is actually building and engines, despite their posturing. They can talk the talk…

These will be my fourth, fifth, sixth and eight A-series I’ve built this year….

I think I'm entitled to say that the A-series is not offset as you claim.
And proof that I actually build these engines and not only talk the talk.

 I haven’t seen any proof other than 4 A series blocks on a garage floor. But let’s assume that you’re telling the truth. So you, Matt and I have built engines, only the op hasn’t.

As for the offset, I suppose it depends what you build.
