BMW PCD versus Jaguar PCD Wheels MK2/3

Postby Indianboy » Tue Jul 20, 2021 10:34 am

Good day

One more question about wheels subject
I'm planning to go for an upgrade of my MK2 front brakes with Jaguar hubs and calipers i will also have to redril my rear drums
but the choice in Jaguar wheels is not so big and price are quite high plus the wheel offset (ET) is not really close to the MK2 ones
BMW wheels a much more affordable and the offset is very close to the MK2 ones

now come my question knowing that:
Jaguar PCD is 5X120.65
BWM PCD is 5X120

Can i install BMW wheels on Jaguar hubs ?

Hi Guys
i found the answer on Jag forum : some say you can install BMW on Jaguar drum with wobble nuts (have a look on the net)
it must be clear that it is not validate by all forum members

So why not use BMW hubs & calipers to start with and re-drill the rear to BMW PCD?

concerning rear hubs, Luke just confirmed me it was not possible to redrill the rear hub
do you have some other info about the subject ?

No I know nothing about it at all but couldn't understand why you'd fit Jag hubs if you don't want Jag PCD.

I see, the reason for Jag hub is it is an easy fit someone here has done it with some minor modifications
Jag wheel here in France are not so commun compare to BMW wheels so that is why i was thinking to use BMW wheels on Jag front hubs

But i also find out, after a lot of Reading on the forum, that you can go with original front hub redrilled to BMW PCD and spacers/adapters for the rear drums/wheels
hope it is clearer :)

The old Jag PCD is as you say 5 x 120.65, this is 5 x 4 3/4 inch in old money.

The 5 x 4 3/4 inch pattern is used by a lot of older GM vehicles in the USA, loads of wheels that pattern available in the US if you don't mind importing them. Worth a look on Ebay US.

Thanks for the info Tim,

But i will go for a simplier and cheapest solution, redrill to BMW PCD and machine the outside diameter of the transit front hub and then i will have access to plenty of choice of wheels :D
