What mondeo engine ? zetec has been done untold times and is fairly easy, just search for zetec escort conversion, the later duratec is more expensive due to not sharing the pinto B/H pattern so needs a differant gearbox but it's been done loads, again in escorts.

Don't bother fitting a later petrol engine to gain ULEZ/CAZ compliance, it won't work.

ULEZ/CAZ compliance is determined by the date of first registration of the vehicle, NOT by the engine installed.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
