Ball joint dust cover?

Postby Lummox » Thu Dec 23, 2021 12:03 am

Failed MOT as no dust cover on steering ball joint?

Does this mean new ball joint or track rod?

Or can I just get a new dust cover for the existing set up?

I've seen the ball joint complete with cover for about £10? Might be worth getting 2 of these?

Are they east to replace?

Many thanks

3 bolts to remove from wishbone and the joint to split from the stub axle to replace the full thing.

Ball joint to split to replace the rubber boot.

The joint will be fooked if you've driven for miles with it uncovered.

Nice.
