Don't know about N reg, but the earlier Dis can be 'bled' of air in the system by cracking off and injector until you see diesel whilst you are cranking over the engine (you will need help with this one, or a very complicated array of mirrors!). Theoretically Dis are self-bleeding, but I have know people flatten the battery trying to get rid of the air!

Welcome by the way!!

Had to do the same last week after getting the injectors checked.

Cranked it for about 20sec's on 3 occasions, but wouldn't start.

Towed it, dropped the clutch in 2nd and it was running within 10yds!!!!

I think the cranking speed ain't enough to purge the air.

To be honest, the old 'hand pump' bleed was probably an easier solution!

fuel pump

Postby john leeman » Sat Oct 22, 2005 7:52 pm

Non't know why they stopped fitting hand primer pumps, blunger on top of the fuel filter. try filling the fuel filter with diesel first, saves cranking on the starter. hand primers are fitted to the mk6s.
