2008 Ford Transit Knocking/rattling noise

Have a 2008 Ford Transit 2,2tdci 140hp. Have a knocking/rattling noise when accelerate. Cant finde the cause. Have anyone else have the same problem/noise. No smoke or lack of power. The noise make me crazy Thanks.

The most common cause of this noise, is blown injector copper seals, usually due to a loose injector clamp bolt or two

Have checked clamps. Can not see that they are loose.

If it makes a engine speed hollow thumping noise on the over run, it'll be injector seals.

Have you got oil/dampness around the seals for the injectors in the cam cover?

Sounds like crank pulley rattle or possibly flywheel
Does it only happen when driving and not stationary?

Clutch and flywheel are new. The sound comes only during driving and light acceleration. The car has only 38,000 km.

Have finally found out that the sound comes from the gearbox. Shall change gear oil to see if it gets better

Changed oil. Did not get better. Flywheel and clutch have just been replaced. Gears up and down nicely. Does anyone have good ideas about what makes noise in the gearbox.

Does the gearbox also rattle when in neutral with clutch out..?? If so, it's usually the 1st motion, (input) shaft bearing or gear not happy...but could be other gearbox internals causing grief when under load. Either way it's a gearbox out job to sort it....probably easier/cheaper to just replace the gearbox.

Incorrect oil or lack of oil can and does cause a lot of issues. Generally the RWD gearboxes are quite robust.
