Wheel noise?

Postby Hedgie » Sun Apr 17, 2022 10:31 pm

I have a strange noise which appears to b coming from the front wheel. The best way I can describe it is that it sounds like the chuff chuff noise of a steam train.
Noise is there either in or out of gear but does seem to speed up the faster I go hence I assume it's wheel related?

Any suggestions? Is it brakes, bearings or something else?

first check wheel nuts are tight ..
if they are :
could be a warped disc,
or possibly , you've had new tyres recently ...and disc has come loose, (entirely possible as the discs are held on with the wheels) disturbed rust has fallen down the back of it as wheel was replaced

all the best..mark

Jack each wheel and spin them.

Might be a low pad starting to catch a wear lip.
