O2 350lwb 125 wont start

Hi there everyone. Ive recently bought my first tranny and so far im really happy with it apart from a few niggles. I do most of the repairs myself.

1. Ive just got new disks,pads n bearings for it. ive tried taking the bearings off bt not had any luck. Any tips?

2. recently its been a bit tempremental at starting. I turn the key to start and it doesnt click or anything. Ive found the only way to start it is to have the key at the 2nd stage then cross the poles on the starter which just spins it but it doesnt engage. Then i can use the key to start it.

Hope someone can shed some light on my problems

1. to get the bearings off i found the easiest way with my mk5 is to heat them up gently with a blow lamp they then come out easier!!

2. could be a faulty starter ?

just done both on my works van. the starter looks a pain to change but in the end it was o.k (2.4 duratorq) it was £212 though... as for the wheel bearings, gentle heat is the key, too much and the hub heats up and expands at the same rate. i always find that the bearing collapses long before you manage to remove the hub anyway. make sure you polish the mounting surface of the hub with emery cloth so the bearing fits well. again i have found that you only get one chance to fit the bearing without it giving up the ghost...
