Orange cog exclamation mark

Postby Stu1994 » Sat May 07, 2022 7:25 pm

Hey, just bought a van and it’s done 175000 miles, it’s got this light on the dash ‘orange cog with exclamation mark’

Anyone any ideas ?? Van runs perfect and done diagnostic on it and coming back abs communication error ?

Assuming it's a Mk7..?? Euro-4 or Euro-5..?? What year model..?? FWD or RWD..?? Engine ps...?? You don't say what you have.

What code reader was used..?? Not all of them can cope with the Transit protocols. COG light is a powertrain fault light, you'll need to get the codes read using a proper code reader as guessing and throwing parts at it is costly and time-consuming.

Forscan or IDS are the "go to" diagnostic units for our Transits.
