mk6 with asm clutch problem

My dual mass clutch died in my Mk6 transit with ASM. After getting advice I replaced it with a single mass with adapter kit.

Now the clutch will not quite release and changing gear is difficult or impossible most of the time.

Can the fork / rod in the single mass be modified so it will release or must I replace with dual mass?

As l understand it...the SMF and DMF are slightly different heights, so it will probably never work with the stock ASM clutch actuator system.

Thanks Lord this comment of yours unfortunately makes perfect sense and if so this design fault will be the source of considerable frustration.

Lamenting days of old when the arm could be adjusted externally to the gearbox.

I'm currently debating removing the ASM which is perfectly fine and keeping the SMF but replacing with manual stick system..., versus removing the SMF and replacing with DMF and keeping the ASM.

Does anyone have thoughts on that?

Turned out that Knobrot was completely right and that ASM's should not be fitted with a single mass, only a dual mass. Thanks Knobrot
