2015 250 transit radiator cooling fans?

Postby Vegastransit1 » Thu Jul 14, 2022 5:11 am

Hello, I am looking for a little assistance replacing my cooling fans. Right side works, left side does not. Needless to say, in Las Vegas here it is 115°f so my ac is not working well. Anyways, I bought an entire radiator fan assembly and cannot really find any info on how to replace. I know this may sound stupid but honestly I can’t figure out how to remove those clips that hold the fan assembly in place? Also do I remove anything else in order to access any better? Your help is much appreciated, thanks for reading.

Before you go to all that trouble, it may be worth checking out the dropper resistor (fan controller) mounted on the radiator casing
If it's burnt out, the low speed fan wont work:-

The fans themselves rarely fail, although I have come across one that was seized up due to not working for so long :)

Sounds great, I’ll check to see if that is open. I did however notice that in that thread that was linked they said they couldn’t find it. I don’t mind swapping the fan assembly, just unsure how they Un-clip. Almost wondering if I need to somehow jam something in all four clips to get them to stay open while I pull the assembly out?
