Banana Engine wont start after engine swap.

Postby Dogsoldier » Sun Jul 24, 2022 9:37 am

Hi guys having an issue getting my 2.5 banana engine to fire after swapping it into another van. The engine came from a 96 and has gone into a 94 petrol. Swapped the harness steering column for immobilizer etc. Ran fine in the donor van but now cannot get it to fire.

There is fuel to the pump and injectors, bled them so no air in there, and the engine spins fine but no fire.

Now the previous owner had hot-wired the relay that is on the immobilizer but as I said this worked okay in the old van. So any thoughts? Have I missed something?

Thanks

If the 94 didn't have an immobiliser, unless you have swapped the entire harness including the under dash immobiliser modules it isn't going to work. You will need to remove the immobiliser module from the back of the pump and give the pump a 12v ignition supply.
