Oil Light (pressure) Low rev)

Postby BelfastVan » Tue Nov 22, 2022 4:29 pm

About 5 months ago the oil light issue got fixed by replacing fiilter and oil change

Now its back... at the time it was established oil pressure is on the low side and when ifling 800rpm the oil light flickers on and on off briefly
Lightly foot on the gas 900rpm "sorts" the issue

I have heard the suggestion of using slightly more viscose oil ... or am i beter replacing the oil pump

Correct oil is 5W30 Full synthetic.....however, if you live in warmer climates, you can use a slightly heavier oil, I'm in Brisbane Australia and use 10W40 in mine without issue.

Have you actually had the oil pressure checked..?? If so what is it..?? If your oil pressure is indeed low there could be a couple of causes, oil pump not well, poor crank/rod bearing clearance or the oil pickup screen in the sump may be partially blocked.
