adblue delete

Postby Harrybowling » Wed Dec 28, 2022 8:19 pm

transit 2018 2.0 tdci 105 hello got the message adblue service now 500mile till engine wont start. garage had a look and couldn't solve the issue, found a company in essex that will come out and do an adblue delete and remap said they could guarantee that it will solve the problem, im not 100 percent convinced as ive heard on this forum a faulty EGR valve and blocked DPF can cause this problem. still wouldn't mind giving it a go, but can anyone see any reasons not to do a adblue delete other than im sure ford garage would not want to work on it again, but ive never had a good experience with them anyway. thanks in adavance to any advice this site has helped me out a lot over the years.

I would imagine if you deleted ad blue ...you'd also have to delete ...meaning remove the particulate filter...as there would be nothing/ no system in place to stop it blocking .
once that's DPF'S out of the way ........MOT guys going to notice .

there are all sorts of messages in i think, in the transit custom or mk8 forum about the adblue software relating to the add blue level in the tank ...and a software upgrade ..if i can remember rightly

Thanks for the reply, I think with that information it would not be wise to get it removed, seems to be so many problems with these vans now which is a shame. Going to give the boys at justtransits in Epping tomorrow as I’ve heard good things about them on the forum
