Mk5 6 stud calipers

Postby 8ball » Thu Jan 05, 2023 8:29 pm

Hi everyone trying to restore my mk5 chassis cab and cleaning up the front suspension at the moment and looking true parts I have a two sets of 6stud front struts one has single pot slide calipers and one has 4 pot ones a
Is there a preferred one to use I would think the 4 pot ones would be better said I would as here first. Thanks

4 pots were never standard fitment on a mk5....

they were all 2 pots on a single side with a slider

hi yeah i just checked there and the other set are twin pot sliders not single not sure what was thinking. but the other set are definitely 4 pots. would I be best to use the twin pot calipers so? since the 4 pots wouldnt have come on the mk5? or would they be a better option in peoples opinions the 4 pots were on the van im restoring and it dose have a different master cylinder to the van the 2 pots were on ( i have that servo and master cylinder kept as a spare )

4 pots were used on a mk3 6 stud, could that be what they came from?
