Mk7 sport engine

Postby Robbra2507 » Tue Feb 07, 2023 11:53 pm

Hi im new here and am looking for some help.

I have a 2012 mk7 sport 2.2 pgfa. It had diesel run on and have been told it is knackered and I need a new engine. Was told that all the transit engines are the same and I could put anyone in my van and its the turbo and ecu that gives the different bhp. Is this correct or do I need to get the same engine that is in it already? Any advice information or help would be much appreciated.

Thanks Robbie

On the Euro-5's, yes...all the basic engines in the FWD's are the same.

You said it was a 2012, if that's the case it will be Euro-5. Anything "built" from September 26th 2011 will be Euro-5.

What's your actual "build date".?? Not the reg date.

Hi, I have had exactly the same happen to my 2014 Custom Sport last week!

I have found an engine that is a CYFF E5, although my V5 states mine is a CVFF.

I forgot to add the seller said the engine came out of a 2017 custom, but it is a 2.2 FWD E5

Does anyone know what the difference is? Thanks

Where will I find the build date? On the v5 it Says version euro4a3eu ea. That's where I got it was a euro 4.

Have a look at the injectors, and post back with the make.
Knobby (or someone) will know which version it is, from that info.

If it's 2.2 euro 5, all the engines are the same, (but presumably RWD are different?)
The later euro 6 engines are 2 litre, and can't be substituted.

What Altransit said...if you can post a pic of the injectors, we'll then be able to tell you for sure.

Build date should be on a sticker in one of the door shuts...similar to this one on mine which is a June 2008 built machine and Euro-4..:
