Transit 2.4TDDI cruise control and electronic trottle

Postby sgsdebruijn » Tue Feb 14, 2023 3:05 pm

Hi,
I am from Holland and have some questions about the 2.4TDDI and Cruise Control, you English guys has more Ford's and knowledge than we Dutch guys (-;
Does the 2.4TDDI has a electronic trottle for cruise control or with a cable?
I have a John Gold GC55 cruise control with cable servo and maybe i can use it bus i think a Transit 2.4TDDi from 2003/2004 has an electrinic trottle.

Who can help me out, all the cruise control installers offer a servo version but i think the Ford has an electronic trottle.
My camper is niot here at my home so can not check,

Thanks

From 2000 onwards, they all have an electronic throttle pedal (no cable) :)

1997 Mk5 SWB 115 Minibus 70ps Di (Gone, but not forgotten!)
2004 Mk6 SWB T280 Medium Roof 85PS 2.0 TDDi - Vantunered (Also gone)
2008 Mk7 SWB T280 Medium Roof 85PS 2.2 TDCi - Also Vantunered

I realise this is an old post, but I have some relevant solutions.

The GC55 can be installed to pull down a thrttle pedal or to a throttle quadrant, I have installed cruise ocntrol to the 2000-2006 for transit in this way. Until recently the GC55 has been out of production, it is now available again (since Oct 2024) and can be used on any vehicle with a cable throttle or an electronic thottle with pedal signals whcih are incompatible with the electronic cruise control units.

The 2000-2006 for transit has a 10 pin throttle pedal connector with 3 lives, 3 earths and 3 potentiometre feeds, this is different to most modern vehicles which have a 6 pin throttle pedal (there are some 4 and 5 pin versions in older Peugeot and Citreon vehicles). There is an electronic cruise control solution which is soldered into the throttle pedal wires.
