Supercapacitor jump starters

Postby mjjordan » Wed May 17, 2023 4:41 pm

Has anyone used one of these new supercapacitor jump starters on a mk 7 transit? Did it do the job without any surge damage to the ecu? thinking about buying one, but concerned on this one issue. Happy to hear of any recommendations, thanks

Just buy a good quality battery/batteries then you won't need one

I have the Noco Boost, and it's a wonderful piece of kit; they wouldn't make these things if it was likely to damage modern vehicle electronics. I've used it at various times to jump start the Mk7, my Mk3 Focus (which has loads of electronic gizmo's) and a couple of other cars.
It also has USB outputs for charging phones, torches etc, and a really bright LED torch, so is a useful bit of kit to carry around with you.

It's fairly compact but quite heavy!
