Radio diagram

Postby Isupchap » Mon Jun 19, 2023 8:39 pm

So my radio went all bitty a bit like when you’re on the phone and someone has a bad signal.

It was an aftermarket radio so I replaced it with the original thinking the radio had gone tits,
And the same thing happened.

That’s lead me to the conclusion of a loose wire so multi meter out and all wires are showing a good volume and voltage

With the exception of one a brown wire.
I’ve checked the Haynes manual to see what this wire does but there’s no stereo wiring diagram in it.

Can anyone offer some help or advice please

Thank you

You hadn't posted what model Tranny you've got. Brown wire, don't know. You get sound but it's cutting off? General advice troubleshooting audio bad conections, is make things easy for yourself. Get the player to somehow do a steady 100 Hz tone through all speakers, while you bump, bang, kick and move wires around listening. The tone shows up the tiniest bad connection. Search youtube for a 100Hz test tone.

So looks like there’s a break in a speaker wire (I suspect in the rubber mount between the door and the van.

When I remove the check strap it makes no difference (or very little) to how much the door opens.

Is there an easier way of getting into it without taking the door off?

Thanks

Spekers usually always break just there. Run bypass wires past it maybe easier
