Camshaft sensor location

Postby Mk7-2.2-2012 » Fri Jan 19, 2024 5:42 pm

Hi guys,

I have trawled the forum using the search but i cannot seem to find the information im after.

I have scanned my van with ForScan and it is showing a P0341 for camshaft sensor but i have no idea where to find the offending item to investigate.

My van is a 2012 plated 2.2 RWD

This issue appeared after i changed the fuel filter out yesterday (Ford Genuine) and now she wont start. It ran well for 1 hr after the filter change (test run)but failed to start today. It fires here and there but not sustaining enough to run fully. All was well before this (bar glowplugs failure)

Quick Google search often brings up stuff on the forum easier than the search option.

Search " ford transit 2.2 puma camshaft sensor location "

https://www.google.com/search?client=fi ... -gws-lite..

Common sense tells us that it should be relatively close to a camshaft...the sensor is mounted between cyl 3 & 4 just above the inlet manifold, it reads the inlet camshaft only. It will have an electrical plug and wiring going to it.

Does she fire with a sniff of easystart..??

Hiya LK,

It does fire once or twice, yeah.

Ive since replaced the sensor with a new Ford one and still the same symptoms :(
