MK7 Locking issue

Postby Elsaetka » Wed Feb 28, 2024 9:55 pm

Hello,

Hope someone can help with what on the face of it seems a simple issue but I can't get past it.

My MK7 standard 2.2 SWB van does the common horn honk when I lock it. I changed the rear door lock and loom (it's a single up and over door model.

I noticed that it doesn't put a light on to show the side door is open, so I changed the side door lock and actuator, plus I fitted brand new door contact pins and plate, still no luck.

Any feedback on what this is would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Have you checked your fuses?

Did you change the loom and locks for new or S/Hand?

Hi,

The rear lock and loom are brand new, the side door lock was a used one, only because a new one is expensive.

I do have a new solenoid, but i'm guessing the advice is going to be, fit a brand new side door lock. All of the fuses are 100% fine.

Thanks

The van has code B10E4 rear door double locking relay short to ground.
I can't tell which relay this refers to, I've seen posts saying this is caused by a faulty BC, but I don't want to go down that route if the fault is just a relay.

Any advice would be appreciated

Check your door harness I know you said you'd previously fitted new but don't overlook it. Also the lock, especially if they were cheap eBay specials?

Side door open signal is an old fashioned push switch down on the lower right door pillar below the lock contacts.

Locking relays are mounted directly to the BCM circuit board.
