Need ideas - door lock broke on German car while in UK

Hi there,

I'm looking for creative solutions for a somewhat hilarious problem:

I'm a German tourist who came through the Eurotunnel a few days ago for a camping trip in the UK. On the first day, the lock on our driver's side door broke. It won't close any longer as the latch mechanism always drops down too far, basically. I've had two different mechanics take a look at it, both said the entire lock needs replacing. One was a Ford dealer who could order the part, but as it's a German car, the driver's side door is on the wrong side and the British part won't fit. They'd have to order it from Germany, which would take up to two weeks, by which time our trip is over.

We're temporarily holding the door in place with a strap, but perhaps one of you wizards has an idea what else we could do.

Some of the guys on here are amazing, but are rubbish with crystal balls, so maybe give them a clue as to which particular Transit you're struggling with

Ah, sorry, yes, I forgot that Brexit has made it impossible to buy proper crystal balls from the Crystál region in France for you guys.

It's a 2015 Transit 350 L2H2, if I'm not mistaken (which I very well might be). Used to be a 9-seater minibus.
