Please can someone help with my ongoing problem with my 2014 FWD Transit.2.2. Started a while back when it failed the MOT on a split rubber boot on the driverside driveshaft. I bought a complete aftermarket driveshaft & had a mechanic fit it. Then , from day one, it developed a knocking noise on acceleration & deceleration. Mechanic said it was a faulty driveshaft, so I got it exchanged ,had the 2nd driveshaft fitted but exactly the same, still knocking. I've put up with it for about 6 months but decided it was really annoying, so I bought a Febri-Bilstein driveshaft thinking a good quality name, so will be a better quality part. Had it fitted & still knocking,I can't believe although they are all after market parts all 3 of them are all faulty?? This knocking wasnt there untill the original driveshaft was changed. One mechanic said the only way to solve it is to buy a genuine Ford driveshaft at nearly £800 , which i would do if i was confident it would solve the problem. I've had 2 mechanics look at the van, also changed the bottom gearbox insulator mount but knocking is still there. Someone has now said it could be the rubber 'donut ' fitted that is the problem, I wasn't aware a FWD vehicle had a rubber 'donut' fitted ,can someone confirm if or not it does? Or please any other help,I'm at a loss as to what's causing this knocking & also at certain revs there seems to be vibration thru the cab. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
