Hi
Happy new year to all
Hoping this site is going to be my saviour. My 2017 eco blue dropped its cam belt 6 months ago and was repaired. This wasn’t done properly and it took out the bearings. After being messed around by several mechanics and recon shops I have taken the job of rebuilding the engine myself ( nightmare !! )
I originally stripped it down to the head to assess the damage after watching several YouTube vids. I am now a dab hand at removing seized injectors, not for the faint hearted as it took me several weeks and really tested my resolve. I got a mechanic to have a look and he then done the belt. That’s when my problems really started as the engine wasn’t properly flushed and the oil channels were blocked which inevitably starved the bearings of oil.
I now don’t trust other people to do the job for me so I am doing myself in my spare time.
Being a window fitter by trade this is no easy task as I’m sure you are all aware.
But alas I am knees deep into it now and need all the help I can get especially as getting basic info on the Panther engine has been quite difficult.
I am at the stage of building the block back up, installing new bearings etc and it has been an epic journey getting to this stage.
Hopefully I can bleed you all for technical specs and help as I proceed and get back on the road by the end of the month.
Wish me luck
Regards to all
Martin
