bad brakes

Postby Transit1466 » Thu Jan 16, 2025 7:29 pm

Hi just re-joined this forum.I have owned my current transit for 4 years its a mk7 ex AA van 62 plate.
I used to have a problem with the front left caliper sticking on every 3 months or so,it has progressed now into every time i drive it.i have changed servo, master cylinder, flexi hoses, calipers, brake pedal switches and had the abs tested they couldn't find fault with abs but i had it rebuilt to erase that they tested electrics that bolt onto it as well. The brakes are no different front left getting hot and rear right. The other two dont even work after 6 miles of driving the rust stayed on them.Ive run out of ideas i was wondering wether anyone else has had this problem or someone could share some light on this
Kind regards Dean

well if they have changed all the parts they said they changed you should not have any faults . that's changed with new parts ...used second hand ..don't know , did you put in new discs and pads ?

only other things i can think of are

That would be ...overloading the sliding calipers pins with grease...this will cause stiction.
Or some how assembling the calipers wrongly

rust ---depends on how much .......if its been left for 2-3 weeks ..then i suppose it would take 50 miles to clear it . 3 months - 100 miles .

All the parts are new I fitted them myself the only thing I haven’t changed is the yaw sensor. All the symptoms I’ve got I had before all the parts were fitted

I’ve now seen 2 transits,(both connects admittedly,65 plates) lock the NSF and OSR brakes on,in both cases it was a faulty ABS block.
By stamping on the brake till faults on,then cracking the fluid lines in different places you should be able to figure what is causing the problem.
