help needed - gearbox mt75 petrol/diesel

hi all i am having a problem finding a gearbox for my 2.5di it is a mt75 box i need to know if i can fit a 2.0pinto petrol mt75 box any help will be good

I believe not as the bell housings are different, Correct me if I'm wrong guys.

Have you tried eBay as there are always loads on there!

I think they are the same!!! the pinto one uses an adapter plate!!! :D
I cant be 100% sure they will fit but i have been told they do!!!

they look the same with the big bellhousing what about the gearing??

the pinto gearbox is the same it may be differnt gearing inside but i have done a petrol to di change before and i used the petrol gearbox and put the di engine in..use the diesal clutch and release bearing.i think the twin cam engine gearbox may be differnt though!in the haynes manual they list 2 gear ratios there is a close rario gearset and long ratio gearset.

a 2litre dohc mt75 is different from the diesel one
formally grey van man.

2010 115 semi high mwb . Fully loaded.

grey van man do you mean differnt as in gearing if so that may be correct but a petrol pinto box will defo go on a diesal.thats what i done when i did my last diesal conversion.

DOHC petrol boxes have the smaller bellhousing that bolts to the engine without an adapter plate (unlike the pinto ones)! :D
Im not sure about the ratios though!!!

Ratio's may be diferent and it'll probably knock the speedo out, i have a 1.6 petrol MT on my recovery (2.5Di).

Mk1 Mondeo 1.8 STD

Mk6 fiesta 1.4TDCi
