Clutch pedal hard to press

Hello the clutch pedal is very hard to press on my 1991 transit campervan , it’s hydraulic is it a big job or can I climb under the van and do it myself lap former spark, any help much appreciated

If it is definitely hydraulic, it could be that your clutch is getting very worn. There's a good article about the design of clutches, when they get very worn you have to push against extra springs, hence it feels stiffer

Transits didn’t get a hydraulic clutch until the mk 6
