Code P2599

Postby Billinavan » Sun Jun 01, 2025 9:37 am

Hi, I have a 2012 2.2 RWD transit MWB, over the last few days I have Engine Malfunction come up and the van goes into limp mode, as soon as I stop and restart it clears and runs fine again, scan with Forscan gives me this code with 'Turbocharger boost control position sensor 'A' stuck high. Im thinking this is the boost control on the side of the turbo and logic says its getting stuck?? Am I looking for physically stuck or is this likely to be the controller failed and need to be replaced, any input would be awesome.. Many thanks in advance, Bill...

Could be a couple of things...EGR not happy, the actuator itself or its wiring not happy...or possibly the little hole in the inlet manifold where the MAP sensor gets it's sense pressure from, they block up with crud.

The throttle body can be a point of issue with the Euro-5's too. I'm still unsure of why they have them when all the earlier engines do not.?? :?:

Hi, thanks for your response, I will check through the wiring connections today, one question, where is Turbocharger boost control position sensor 'A'? im thinking it is part of the turbo boost controller on the side of the turbo.. Thanks..

If it's got the electronic actuator, it could be that it's jammed as the cogs get worn and form a strange shape. But it's also on your egr valve line. Probably more likely the egr valve

Thanks, Iv checked through all the connections and the MAP sensor hole appears clear, did find the wiring for the turbo actuator was tight as routed incorrectly, will give it a drive and see what happens. It did have a replacement turbo last year but still the original actuator..
