Dead cigar lighter sockets

I bought a 2018MY 2.0 Transit Custom Limited (UK spec) recently. The instrument panel has four power outlets, two USB-A sockets and 2 traditional 12V cigar lighter sockets. The USB sockets are, I'm guessing, 2 amp outlets, as they struggle to charge as fast as a satnav app drains my phone. I wanted instead to use the cigar lighters with a higher amperage adapter but neither cigar lighter works. The fuse (F13, 20A, according to the manual) tests fine, as did F14, another 20A fuse for the instrument panel auxilliary power unit (I swapped the two as a belt and braces trial).

I am assuming there is a break somewhere in the live feed, rather than failed cigar lighters. It would be bad luck indeed for both sockets to have failed. I have no idea how to get the sockets out and access under the instrument panel is extremely restricted. Any suggestions, people?

Sorry I can't help directly with your question - but don't discount this. If someone broke one, they are likely to have broken the 2nd in the same way!
