Central locking issue

Postby ChrisownsaTransit » Thu Dec 04, 2025 1:56 pm

Hi all

I brought a 2012 transit back in May this year
Im currently converting it into a camper
Recently its developed an issue with the central locking
The drivers door is unlocked but none of the other doors will unlock
Passenger and all rear doors are locked and won't open
Ive tried unlocking from the inside, the fob isn't working either
Ive changed the fuse
Has anyone got any ideas?
Many thanks

Is the van in regular use?

Maybe the aux battery is flat  (if you have two batteries)

What our Altransit said..!

If you have twin batteries, the fron one is probably munted.

Strange....normally the Mk7 twin battery setup uses the front battery for everything other than starting. When the ignition is turned on, the batteries are then connected in parallel until the ignition is turned off, then all accessories run off the single front battery, this is why the front battery often fails first.

TBH mine has been messed with a WHOLE LOT  being an ambo, the battery wiring all looks and acts as factory but the builders may have messed with the factory setup elsewhere, the BCM has quite a few extra wires solderd in, i've still not got to bottom of everything
