Hi all I hope someone can help me with this problem i have been getting this come up on my dash it says engine service now so I plug in my laptop with forscan and it was saying dpf blocked with soot so I removed the dpf and cleaned it then refitted it but it still saying the same and also cant clear the codes.

Best saying what model you have engine size year .. as some later vans have different systems which will mean different advice .
Generally if 2.2 or 2.4:
1 You have to look at a device called a vaporiser, this squirts diesel into the DPF to do the re-gen .. these can get blocked, so need dismantling or replacing .
2. The van must reach its running temperature, something near 88 degrees .that means engine thermostat must be working right or any sensors on the exhaust that read temperature must be working, these sensors are called EGT on forscan
3. The engine needs to be running right , a fault with the EGR, a fault with the turbo .. a fault with the mass air flow or injectors or boost leak, can make it run rich and sooty so blocking the DPF
4.If you do lots of short runs it will never reach temperature for regen
5.An engine that is worn out and burning oil will block the DPF .. turbo seals blown etc .
6 A message on forscan that says DPF "below threshold" can mean it's cracked or broken up and NOT BLOCKED.

Check the DPF pressure sensor and the pressure pipes too. They can cause the same fault even after the DPF has been cleaned.

2.4 is Euro-4 so won't have a DPF.
