Transit Mk 6 flash 23, and error codes

Postby _Mcmoo_ » Sun Oct 11, 2026 10:25 am

Morning All,

I've got a 2001 transit 2.0L Duratorq DI with 45k on the clock. Just passed an mot with some minor work.

A couple of times recently she had been difficult to start, turning over but just not catching, a few weeks ago I went to go out and she just wouldn't.

Bit of tinkering, and I've got a code 23 on the immobiliser next to the clock.

This lead me down the route of removing the ecu on the fuel pump and sending it off to be repaired, done this, reconnected it, but its still the same.

I've just got a forScan reader (should have done this first) and got a list of error codes.

Is this a new fuel pump, and a reprogram or any suggestions on what I should be looking for or checking next?

Code dump from forScan:

The first thing to check with a FWD TDDi is the wiring to the pump where it bends around the front of the engine (in the area ofthe starter motor). The copper wires can fracture, inside the PVC covering causing an internal break, due to tension in the wire, or scuffing on adjacent metal.
Checking involves taking the loom out of the outer sleeve, and checking each individual wire for fracturing
