mate you could do with replying to the other post you made on this - without searching back i forget which box you have fitted mt75 or type 9??

on mine i welded the brackets on - went on no probs!!
although with type9 i cut the crossmember in half and bolted it back with a welded in plate so i didnt have to take the engine out to get the gearbox out - if you know what i mean -i can put up a photo if your unsure!!
:D

the rear two mounting holes (1 each side) on the mk3 crossmember will fit the mk2 van, it is the front ones that wont, you have a couple of options

1) weld the front mounting points to the chassis
2) drill new holes in the chassis and mount plates with nuts on them inside the chassis rail
3) cut the front mounting points off the mk3 crossmember and do the same with the mk2 ones and swap them, and weld them back together when you have it all lined up (kind of like extensions or outriggers)

:)

sorry yeah i do know what im talking about  ............ honest!!
the mt75 box is shorter - yes the prop is longer!
the mk3 wheelbase is about 1" longer if you take the mk3 mt75 prop to specialist they will be able to shorten it if you take both props you should be able to have one made to fit perfect!! :D

yup .... wrong prop

for my mk2 lwb, i got a mk3 lwb prop, but from my searching around the best option for the length to be correct is a mk3 lwb (standard length not extended) flatbed (dropside) or tipper as these seem to be simliar lengths to the mk2

just one other thing mine is a twin wheeler, and so was the donor vehicle, single wheel lwb vans seem to be of all sorts of different wheelbases :? so try and stick to like vehicle types if you get what i mean

mines a lwb luke (and the prop i have came from an 89 / 90 mk3 twin wheeler)

like i said, tippers are the best bet for a matching prop length

EDIT! ... dam it this topic is spread over 3 posts ... i have already answered the issue of the centre bearing mounting position needing relocating ....... can someone merge the topics and tidy it ?
