luke no no mate they are not ,completly difrent ! v4-v6 essex one type cologne v4-v6 other type! my gearbox in the mk1 will take 2.3-2.8-2.9 but not essex ! thats why i cant just through in a 2ltr essex v4,without the gearbox belhouseing clutch fork etc! so i would need a engine and gearbox and probly prop as well!

have you got a mt75 kicking around anywere? one thing i have always wonderd could the add plate be drilled to take another engine ie 2.8? fords do use a add plate for the 2.9 to mt75 but getting one of those down the scrappy is like rocking dung!

seen a 2.9 ambulance with an MT75 box but no idea weither it had a plate or not, my di recovery has no plate but my 2.0 pinto Mk3 does so assume they are all di bell housing pattern and need an adaptor to fit a pinto/DOHC.

yep ive got a mt75 in the shed, ive also got pinto bellhousing and v6 2.8/2.9 bellhousing- threw a V4 one away!! Doh!!! though bobs bringing one round next week hopefully to try!!

the mt75 i have is a Di one though!!!
this adapter plate may be we think to V4!!!
I dont think it will adapt to V6 2.8 cos the bolts look too close!!

what i need is a petrol Mt75 to check!!!
