Mk3 clutch ratchet

How many different types are there?
Put the compleat engine, box and clutch cable in me recovery and now i can't get the box into gear? the only part left of the old gearchange is the peddle and ratchet so changing that tomorrow.
I know theres 2 different length cables i take it thats it's due to differen't peddles?

I'm not 100% sure but I know that the yellow plastic ratchet is very slightly different sometimes in the amount of space before the teeth - it's only millimetres but makes a big difference when fitting it. Don't know which models are different though.
