transit swb turbo conversion

hello eveyone i have had a few transits now an have just aquired a old school minibus with turbo engine wuth a genuine 60000 mile with full dealer service and gonna transplant this engine in to my 1996 swb van. The question i would like answered though is where or what has the 4.1-1 ratio rear diff ? mine has a 4.56-1 on t34 axle it 1996 Di engined swb van please steer me in the right direction because i would like to be able to a least keep my mate in his 110cdi vito in sight on motor way when we go racing together thanks in advance

Welcome to you, why not just persuade your mate to buy a tranny?

the only problems i could see would be all the electrics but as you have got the other vehicle you will have everything you will need good luck

what vito has your mate got new shape or old??? both were big disasters

he has Mk1 110 cdi with chip and i just overhauled the engine with new performance injectors and then three days later put a gear box in it as he lost drive in 2nd and reverse gears. he used to have a fully loaded tranny high top in silver with central locking and abs but would any one help for my diff question thanks and i'm not to bothered if i can't keep with him because i will always be able to repair my van with not alot of cost

i don't mind we all have our bad days but being very impatient that i am what tranny has the 4.1 diff or is this not available for mine was hoping to source one for this weekend as the whole engine job is fri sat sun al done

no idea which tranny has the 4.11 diff but what ps engine have you got??

115ps intercooled engine with vent on wing and turbo badge
so thats why i would like the higher ratio diff because want to try and kep the tread on my rear tyres

mate she will shift if you can find a 4.11 diff. i have a 100ps with a 5.16 diff and she does just over a ton you must be able to get 115/120 mph with a 4.11 diff and 115ps i know what you mean with the rear tyres i can spin mine in 2 nd all day long

100ps has bigger dia tyres on his!!

very weird must be limited even my dads hicube will do 90mph with bog standard turbo lump 100ps but over 250k on the clock and its got a 5.14 diff mine has been tweeked a little bit as its ex police
