removing seats from a minibus

if i bought a 12 seat SWB minibus i'd want to remove three of the seats to keep it a PLG (ie driver plus 8 passengers) but can i just do this and tick the plg box when i tax the van or would i have to get it inspected and changed offically?

Unless anybody knows otherwise, I would just fill out the back of the V5 and take out the seats. You would only run into a problem if you are not being honset, IMO.
