Postby scottg1974 » Sun Mar 05, 2006 11:15 pm

hi all, great site, i have brought my first transit, N reg it has started to bounce on pull off, but not all the time, is it a new clutch, fly wheel or just a leak onto clutch? secondly now the ice has come, my heater is blowing fuses everytime i turn it on, 30 amp, it comes on for a second or two then blows, is this faulty fan, a short or somebody reckons it is a blockage, if so how do i unblock? thanks.

mate firstly clutch, its very comon for a transit clutch to judder on pull away! if its not to bad then leave it ,or replace the clutch ,i have 2 vans that do it ,normaly its because they are not beeing used everyday! :?
the heater well that could be loads of difrent things but to blow the fuse it could be something wrong with the fan motor! these are not to bad to take out a pain but not to bad a job,and easy enouph to get hold of as there is loads of transit now in the scrappers!
hope this helps you ,let us know if you need anymore help! :)

Hi , Firstly the heater , Check for wet ,bare or shorting wires to the heater before replacing it , Does it blow on all three speeds or just the 1 ,try different speeds by putting it on the speed you are going to try whilst ignition is off ,then put ignition on and see if it blows, try all 3 speeds this way and you never know if it is the wiring it might work on one of them,.

Good luck
Mike.

clutch seems ok today only juddered a couple of times, i think the van had stood for a couple of months which might explain it, i will have to get somebody to sort out the heater as it is getting a nightmare to defrost inside screen on a morning, and i have not got a clue where or how to check the motor etc, but i will check the motor on the 3 speeds, as soon as i get 3 fuses. thanks for your help.

clutch seems ok again today so will leave it, tried the heater as somebody said, on all speeds, when i put in a new fuse and on number 1 it has stayed on and even on all speeds etc, this is weird, it must have moved whatever was blocking it.

It wont be something blocking it I wouldn't have though, you'll probably find you have a bad section commutator.
