fuel filter dash light

hi ,anyone help my fuel filter light keeps coming on, i have checked the tap on the filter no water comes out just derv any ideas? thanks .richie

On my x reg it has a mind of its own, just before my long trip it would stay on...now it comes on with ignition and then goes off and its not even connected to anything...must be the Y2K bug as its a year 2000 build
