The 95-99 dash will fit, but theres a lot of work to do.
The heater box will need to be changed to the 95-99 type and there will need to be some cutting to the bulkhead as the heater pipes don't line up and the air inlet on the bulkhead also needs some cutting. the mounting bolts (4 of them) also don't line up!
The 2 bolts on either side of the dash by the door seal do line up and the 3 mountings along the dash top line up also but the mountings on your van will need to be drilled to accept screws as the earlier fixings were push fit connections.
You will also need to to fit the A-post trim to match the new dash, the mountings on your van are small plastic bungs in which the original screws screw into. when you remove these the holes (3 along the A-post) need to be widened with a file or a drill to fit the 95-99 plastic bungs, as they are wider.
You'll need to do some jiggery pokery with the wiring too, i'd prefer to modify the existing loom rather than swop to the later type, although if you have a complete loom from the later van it can be done but will add a lot more work. things you will need to change are the connections to the gauges and the heater blower motor and switch i think, you also need to provide a connection for the clock and extend the wiring for some switches such as the fog light switch. and radio connections too possibly.
you will also need to get a black stick on sunvisor as sold by any motor accessory shop. this needs to be stuck to the bottom 3 inches of your windscreen on the inside as the new dash is higher than the base of the screen. 95-99 windscreens have a standard blackened section here, if your windscreen has recently been replaced then this might already be there.
I think the gearlever might need to be changed too as the heater box protrudes more in the 95-99 vans
get urself a cheap set of later doors too and fit them if you want matching door cards.
you will then need to buy a cap for your head because you will have most if not all of your hair pulled out in frustration by this stage!
I think that covers most of it, best of luck!
