fuel lines now smoking and loss of power?

:oops: :oops: how do i get those crappy push fit fuel lines off of the lift pump :? have tried all ways and only suceeded in taking the skin off of my knuckles :evil:

You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

should be a small tab protruding either side, push them in together and it should pull off

try this hicube, push the tabs together then push the pipe 'ON' Then pull it away in one movement if you know what i mean

Odd. I had no problems with them on mine, they just came off easily. Just push in the tabs and off they come.

managed to get 1 off but will have to pull the other off with lift pump as i might as well replace that at the same time :roll: i thought the holes might be caused by using acetone in the system but looks like theyve rubbed on the corner of the block :cry: :cry:

turned out it werent the fuel lines but the back injecter had a slight leak and running down the block onto the lines :x :x anyway new lines on now just a grey smoke problem :( whats grey smoke mean??? unburnt fuel???

Give the injectors a bleed.

ok loss of power and smoking blue and grey very lumpy tickover and acceleration since fuel line and lift pump replacement :? :? im thinking the tappets need doing as i didnt do them last time i done the head as it seemed ok (ish) :oops: anyway going to give them a go tommorow :) but i have been told by a ex ford mechanic to do them when hot however just had a motorcycle mechanic tell me to do em cold :? :? whats the correct way please :oops: :oops:
