Ford tourneo 03 plate warranty job.

Postby mrtaximan » Mon Apr 18, 2005 12:56 pm

Hello all.are we ready for this then!!!All tdci engines are prone to this fault ie: Engine heats up and shows all the symptoms of a failed stat.Dig deeper and you find that the water is not circulating.Water pump?well yes and no.The water pump and the power steering pump are joined back to back flange to flange connected by a splined shaft. For some reason corrosion gets in and causes the splines to fail.In my case destroying both the power steering and water pumps.Fords cure is to replace both units and pack with a special grease.
I had a bit of a issue with fords as they said the warrenty was void due to the car being used as a cab.Really not forgetting the car had been in the same dealers twice last year and was repaired under warrenty.Once for a water leak on the side windows then for a running problem these faults were fixed without problem. Also i was told that the wrong ANTI_FREEZE can cause this problem by a ford employee !!! regards mark.

Firstly I can't believe that Fords are not going to do something permanant about this, then again I can beleive it! Secondly I don't see what it being used as a cab has got to do with it. Does having nice seats, carpet and aircon mean that this is any less a commmercial vehicle?

HIYA M,T,M
GALD TO HEAR YOU HAVE YER VAN BACK , HOPEFULLY YOU WONT RUN INTO THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN ,

BUT NO WAY SHOULD FORDS TRY TO VOID YOUR WARRENTY DUE TO USING YOUR VAN AS A TAXI :!: :!:

THEY TRIED IT ON WITH ME ONCE , WHEN MY BALL JOINT SNAPPED SHORTLY AFTER BUYING MY VAN , GOT THE JOB DONE , THEN WONDERED WHY I GOT THROUGH A SET OF FRONT TYRES , IN A WEEK ! , WHENT TO A GARAGE TO GET THE TRACKING LOOKED AT AND THEY POINTED OUT THAT MY STEERING RACK WAS BENT WHICH FORDS HAD OVER LOOKED , THEN HAD TO HAVE A ROW TO GET THAT CHANGED UNDER WARRENTY DUE TO IT HAPPENING WHEN THE BALL JOINT SNAPPED .
