juddering clutch

juddering clutch

Hi,my 1996 smiley face 2.5 diesel sometimes has an annoying juddering from the clutch when pulling away from junctions etc,could it be the cable wants oiling?? probably not but any thoughts??

could possably be the rear crankshaft oil seal - that causes clutch judder :(

:? most have a judder1 :( in fact all my vans have clutch judder even the mk1 :shock: i think its were they stand around! :?

my 94 190 does it real bad in reverse when you ride the clutch. mine is caused by an oil leak somewhere towards the back of the engine. aint got round to sorting it yet.

That will be the crankshaft oil seal.

NOT ALWAYS REAR OIL SEAL, SOMRTIMES ROCKER COVER AND RUNS ALL THE WAY DOWN, ALSO NOT ALWAYS CLUTCH BUT GEARBOX :shock:

Lots of reasons for clutch judder

low engine rpm during pull away
dirty splines on the input shaft
distorted components in the clutch
sticking cable
sticking/ tight pedal
dirty release bearing guide tube
engine oil leaks
loose transmission mounting bolts

and i'm sure I could think of a few more if i didn't need to top up my beer glass :lol:
