The box itself is the same, remember they are cast ally so there is nothing to bolt off/change for the two engines. Now I am trying to work out if you need an adapter plate for the pinto, as I have never needed one to match the MT75 to the 2L, but can't remember if we changed the flywheel, which was more than likely. I'll get back to you!!

the mt75 gearboxes for petrol and diesel are the same, until Ford started fitting the DOHC petrol engine then it has a different mt75 unique to the twincam,it has a small bell housing, but mt75 for pinto and di, the same :D di engine Trany after 1997 has electric speedo and an mt75 that we call a "flat top" Ford changed the casting of the box but it will still fit a pinto using the standard adaptor plate, and Di no problem and you can pull out the electric speedo drive and put the manual cable drive in but you will have to buy an oil seal, approx £2 :D
