FUEL INJECTION PUMP

Hi. I have just fitted a s/h injection pump to my van and now I can’t get it running
I have tried to bleed it but it doesn’t seem to be getting much fuel. I also have fitted a new derv filter today and still no joy….1999 2.5d

How have you got round the immobiliser?

Hi. Have found the course of all my problems… I finally got the pump to bleed after a long time apart from number 4 injector, which was blowing back at me.. the problem was a small piece of the number 4 injector had broken off inside the engine… will that be a problem????????

Yes, you will need to change it

Ok…new injector in and now new problem she runs ok and starts fine but runs lumpy and lack of power. Dues this mean I need timing pump tweaked?

Is it a matching injector? I've had the same problem with a Di in the past, the injectors have a blob of paint on them ie green, white, red or orange if there mixed up that could be your problem

Hi ..I have the Wright injector. I brought the old the with me when I got new one.... as the shop said there was different types… Old and new injectors have white ring on them

errm check the numbers are correct on the new injector...

they were never donoted by the colour of a ring, but they were marked by a spot of coloured paint. Non turbos are either red or green. Red for the bananna (76PS) engine and Green for the (70PS) engine.

From memory you need a 33706 (Bananna) or 33704 (non bananna)

Hi thanks for the chart… but cant find mine on it// old injector 974f-da...32144l97... new injector 33704...fo9mw. Can’t see any colour on new or old. I got the new injector from…. first diesel (croydon) Sorry when I said that the injector had a white ring on them … I was looking at that I think must have been some sort of seal and cannot be seen when fitted

33704 is for a 97 onwards 70PS - is that what you have?

Hi yes new injector 33704 my van is a 1999 2,5. she looks like an old dog but allways run nice and was nice to drive. am self employed and she;s the only wheels i have.. need to get her running properly..

Do you have the 70 or 76PS engine??

The other thing I have just thought of - what year is the injection pump from?
